On March 28, 2014 USA Today gave a shout out for the 10 best dancehalls where country still swings. A friend of mine just so happens to own one of the ten and I’m about to tell you about it. I’m so proud of her and her husband.
It’s the Stagecoach Ballroom in Fort Worth Texas and a place I like to go dance. You might find it entertaining too. Every person, from patron to owners, is great and become friends if you give them the chance. Each band is wonderful but their house band is one of the best ever. Country western stars find this a venue they love as well because they’re overwhelmed with the love of their fans there. Like the country people they are, their door is always open, on the nights they are of course, with a welcoming, “Y’all come back,” encouragement when you leave. And I bet you will.
The Stagecoach ballroom has been the site of one movie I know of and perhaps two just to give you a little more history.
Also, Dora, a pretty woman with long black hair (sounds like a song, doesn’t it?) is creating a singles Fort Worth group Meet and Greet this week on April 4th with a Happy Hour between 6:00 and 8:00. Even if you don’t know how to dance, come on over and you’ll be shown. There is a cover charge of $7.00 per person. She says the balloons at the back of the club will show you the way.
